How it works
From your ISP to your cloud. One connection.
Amanah has built its own Network-to-Network Interface (NNI) inside Meet-Me-Room 1 at 151 Front Street West, connected to the major ISPs in the Toronto area. Getting connected to your cloud resources is a two-step process that Amanah handles on the same day.
Request a P2P connection
Initiate a Point-to-Point (P2P) connection request from your existing Internet Service Provider to Amanah's Network-to-Network Interface (NNI) in MMR1 at 151 Front Street West. Rogers, Bell, Beanfield, Cogent, Allstream, and more are already integrated.
Your ISP connects to Amanah's NNI
Amanah extends to your cloud
Once your P2P connection reaches Amanah's NNI, Amanah extends a Virtual Cross Connection (VxC) from the NNI to your cloud provider of choice. AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Partner Interconnect, or Cloudflare Network Interconnect.

Supported Cloud Providers
Direct connections to every major cloud.
All connections are dedicated private circuits. Traffic does not traverse the public internet. Each provider’s native private connectivity product is used, giving you the performance, security, and SLA guarantees that come with it.
AWS Direct Connect
Amazon Web Services
Private, dedicated connectivity to the full AWS service catalogue. Hosted connections and Hosted Virtual Interfaces via Amanah’s Megaport partnership. Lower latency and more consistent throughput than internet-based access to AWS EC2, S3, RDS, SageMaker, and all other AWS services.
Azure ExpressRoute
Microsoft Azure
Private circuit connectivity to Azure’s full service portfolio including Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Azure Functions, Machine Learning, and Data Lake Analytics. Consistent low latency and predictable bandwidth for hybrid Azure workloads.
Partner Interconnect
Google Cloud
Direct access to Google Cloud Platform via Partner Interconnect. Optimized performance for GCP workloads including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Kubernetes Engine. Minimal latency for data-intensive and real-time applications.
Network Interconnect
Cloudflare
Direct access to Cloudflare’s global network for DDoS mitigation, threat filtering, content caching, and Zero Trust security services. Private connectivity means your traffic benefits from Cloudflare’s edge without routing through the public internet first.
Use Cases
What you can build with Cloud Connect.
Cloud Connect supports any architecture that needs private, reliable connectivity between your on-premises or colocated infrastructure and the public cloud.
Hybrid cloud
Extend your on-premises or colocated infrastructure to the cloud with a private, dedicated connection. Run workloads that require low latency to both on-premises and cloud resources without internet routing.
Multi-cloud
Connect to AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud simultaneously from the same Amanah NNI. Manage all cloud connections from a single platform and move workloads between clouds without public internet hops.
Cloud-to-cloud
Establish direct connections between two cloud providers without your data leaving the private network. Transfer data between AWS and Azure, or Azure and GCP, via Amanah's NNI as the transit point.
Disaster Recovery
Replicate data from your primary infrastructure at 151 Front Street West to a cloud-based DR environment. Private connectivity means consistent replication speeds and no surprise data egress costs.
Cloud migration
Move large data sets and workloads to the cloud without the latency and bandwidth limitations of public internet transfers. A private 10Gbps connection makes migrations faster and more predictable.
Compliance and data residency
Keep data traffic off the public internet to meet compliance requirements for regulated industries. PIPEDA and PHIPA-compliant infrastructure at 151 Front Street West connected to cloud via private circuit.
Private vs Public Internet
Why dedicated connectivity outperforms public internet routing.
Public internet connections to cloud providers are subject to congestion, variable latency, and unpredictable throughput. A dedicated private connection gives you a consistent, reserved path that is not shared with other traffic.
For workloads where latency, throughput consistency, and security matter, private connectivity is the standard enterprise approach. Every major cloud provider offers a dedicated private connectivity product specifically because public internet access is insufficient for production workloads.
| Factor | Private (Cloud Connect) | Public Internet |
|---|---|---|
| Latency | Consistent, low | Variable |
| Throughput | Guaranteed, dedicated | Best effort, shared |
| Security | Private, no internet exposure | Public routing |
| Reliability | SLA-backed | No SLA |
| Data transfer cost | Lower egress rates | Higher egress rates |
| Setup complexity | Higher | Lower |

FAQ
Common questions about Amanah's cloud connect.
CONNECTIVITY
What is Cloud Connect?
Cloud Connect gives you a dedicated private connection from your network straight to your cloud providers, bypassing the public internet. Traffic runs over a point-to-point connection to Amanah’s NNI and is then handed off privately to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Cloudflare.
What cloud providers does Cloud Connect support?
Cloud Connect supports AWS Direct Connect, Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Partner Interconnect, and Cloudflare Network Interconnect. All connections are available from 100Mbps to 10Gbps.
Can I connect to multiple cloud providers at the same time?
Yes. Amanah Cloud Connect supports hybrid, multi-cloud, and cloud-to-cloud architectures. You can connect to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Cloudflare simultaneously from the same NNI and manage all connections from a single platform.
What is the difference between Cloud Connect and regular internet access to the cloud?
Regular internet access to cloud providers routes your traffic across the public internet, which is shared, subject to congestion, and offers no SLA on latency or throughput. Cloud Connect provides a dedicated private circuit that bypasses the public internet entirely, giving you consistent latency, guaranteed bandwidth, better security, and typically lower data egress costs from the cloud provider.
NETWORK
What is Amanah's NNI?
Amanah’s NNI (Network-to-Network Interface) is the handoff point between your ISP’s network and Amanah’s network. Your traffic reaches the NNI over a point-to-point connection from your ISP, and from there Amanah delivers it privately to your cloud provider.
Do I need to colocate at 151 Front Street West to use Cloud Connect?
No. Amanah’s NNI is integrated with major ISPs in the Toronto area including Rogers, Bell, Beanfield, Cogent, and Allstream. Regardless of your office or facility location, you can connect through your existing ISP to Amanah’s NNI and from there to your cloud resources.
Is Cloud Connect available to businesses outside Toronto?
Cloud Connect via Amanah’s NNI is primarily designed for organizations in the Toronto and Ontario area whose ISPs are connected to 151 Front Street West. Contact the Amanah team to discuss your specific location and ISP to confirm availability.
PRICING AND BILLING
Do I need a long-term contract?
No. Cloud Connect is available on month-to-month terms with no long-term contract required. You can scale up, scale down, or cancel with standard notice.
Are there setup fees?

Operations
How quickly can a Cloud Connect circuit be provisioned?
Once your P2P connection reaches Amanah’s NNI, the Virtual Cross Connection (VxC) to your cloud provider is provisioned the same day. The time to establish the initial P2P connection from your ISP depends on your ISP’s provisioning timeline.
Is there an uptime SLA on Cloud Connect?
Yes. Cloud Connect is backed by a 100% uptime SLA, with a dedicated private circuit and redundant routing to keep your cloud traffic flowing.
How do I get started?
Contact the Amanah team with your location, ISP, and the cloud providers you want to reach. The team will confirm availability through your ISP, set up the NNI handoff, and provision your VxC to the cloud.
